I’m Pasties Girl.
What does that mean exactly?
I sell real seashell pasties.
These pasties stick on with a double sided tape that can get wet but comes off with soap and water.
I make these all year round and sell them in my online store at FantasiesByHope.com
Once a year, I go around with my basket at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade and offer my lovely hand painted seashell pasties to the world in person.
I make them sparkly, multicolored sometimes blingy when requested for customization which happens often.
I couldn’t tell you how many I’ve sold since I always lose count.
I have many fans who know me because of the pasties I create.
Some wait till the day of the Mermaid Parade to get a pair if they are lucky to catch me walking around the boardwalk area.
We always have a blast!
This time my bf , Joseph wore one to show how good it looks on guys.
Last year, Men were our highest buyers.
This year it was equal.
Now it’s time to talk about the Parade!
If you go dressed up, you will be bombarded by Photographers.
This is your day!
You got creative and made something or bought something that made you stand out proud to be a mermaid/pirate or whatever you wanted and now you’re definitely going to get appreciated here!
You won’t be the outcast this time.
The ones who don’t get dressed up will feel like they definitely should have.
So far every year it’s pretty damn hot, so be sure to wear that water proof make up.
Carry lots of water and bring some lunches to fully enjoy your day without having to wait an hour on any lines for anything.
Animals were welcome on the boardwalk and beach!
This made me very excited to see.
From animals dressed up, to kids and adults, we’re all having fun exploring our inner child and creative side.
There will be boobs, but the kids don’t seem to care that much.
If anything it’s more of a big deal to adults then to kids.
So come feeling free and keep your hands to yourself.
- Bring Water
- Don’t forget some snacks and try to carry lightly
- Come by train if possible or you may be looking for parking for an hour.
- Get dressed up and go all out. It’s exciting to get out of the comfort zone, especially here because you’re totally appreciated and respected for it.
- Bring $30 and up if you want to treat yourself on the boardwalk or freakshow bar. Don’t forget there’s rides! We brought our own things so we spent nothing :]
- Never forget the sunblock
- Wear comfy shoes
- Have fun! The Mermaid Parade is only once a year!
